Grind on, Grind off – Highward & Skyward!

curbside, los angeles

This challenge has been a difficult one for me.  I live in a neighborhood filled with apartments, and travel about 4 blocks to work.  When I considered capturing “On The Way” I thought, “But I don’t ever go that far.”

I walk my dog twice a day and decided to take my camera along.  And although I didn’t see much that caught my attention today, I know I’m just beginning to look at things from a photographer’s perspective — which I’m completely novice at.  I also don’t know how to use any editing software very well yet and find that frustrating.

But I know this is part of the process so I’m gonna be patient through it and just have fun!

I saw these shoes sitting on a couch headed for its new destination and thought, “Well, it’s on its way.”  And being that my day job has me on my feet all day (while I’m pursuing my dream), the shoes reminded me to hang in there because I too am on my way — with both photography and my dream career.

So highward & skyward I go!

Hare kṛṣṇa hare kṛṣṇa, kṛṣṇa kṛṣṇa hare hare, hare rāma hare rāma, rāma rāma hare hare,”

the gentle man mumbled, his hand buried in a mysterious prayer sack.  “He’s likes me,” he continued, as my small dog enthusiastically let him know who was boss.

“Yeah. He’s got a lot of energy,” I said.

Smiling, he shared his loving eyes with my vivacious fury friend.  “He’s an old soul,” he said. There’s a human in there.”

Wow, really?  I have to say, it made me think.  Could my dog really be on his way to a higher state of evolution?  What if he’s actually further along in consciousness than me?  Could I be the one on my way to a higher state?

Whatever the case, this hairy dogma’s got me going “hmmm”!

“In the moment, you most likely won’t know how valuable such detours will prove to be, but life has a way of revealing the hidden magic in these moments down the road at the appropriate time.”
